Mass Ministries Help Needed—Are you being called to serve? Our parish uses Ministry Scheduler Pro (MSP) to schedule volunteers for weekend Masses. The parish pays a subscription for MSP, the fee is based on the number of volunteers in the system. Glenda Conover, a dedicated volunteer, generates a new schedule every three months.
Once a volunteer is set up with an MSP account, they may input their unavailable dates and change their preferences as needed. Glenda populates the schedule with volunteers, avoiding their unavailable dates, and spreading their service out as much as possible. Ideally, a volunteer would only be scheduled to serve once per month, or less. However, when there are too few volunteers available to be scheduled, the same people are scheduled for multiple weeks per month. This is the case with several of our ministries. We especially need more: • Cup Ministers at all Masses • Sacristans at all Masses • Ushers at all Masses • Projector Techs at all Masses • Head Ushers at the 11 am • Servers at 5 pm and 8 am If you are willing to serve please complete a Time and Talent Survey and we will get you any training you need and set you up in MSP. Once you are in MSP, there is a handy app you may download on your smartphone to manage your profile and schedule. If you are already in MSP, but not active or set as a “sub-only” please consider changing your status so that you will be included in the next schedule, allowing those already willing to be scheduled to serve less often. We all have busy lives and it is hard to commit to another obligation, I get it. Remember, you have the opportunity to input the dates you know you are not available before the schedule is generated, plus you can always request a sub if something comes up and you cannot serve as scheduled.
Please call the office if you have questions or need assistance. We are happy to help! Thank you for sharing your gifts. —Chris Kuhlemeyer
